Elyse - One Month

We survived the first month! Thankfully, Elyse has gotten pretty good at eating. She still takes a LONG time to eat (even on the few occasions that Jon has bottle fed her), but that can be expected. I'm glad she's resolved her eating issues so they are nothing out of the ordinary anymore.

Aside from the initial struggles, she's really turned into a pretty good and easy baby, especially compared to our the boys as infants. She sleeps pretty well, except for lately, and has even started to have longer stretches of awake contentment.
(The last couple of days, she's decided that she doesn't like to sleep alone in her crib! Why sleep in the crib when you can be held by mom or dad all night?)

We haven't been the greatest at taking pictures, but the other day out on Grandmother's Ruthie's lawn I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of our little girl. We all think that she's pretty cute, unfortunately, the pictures don't due her justice. But, here are some collages anyway. By the way, while I was feeding and taking pictures of Elyse, both boys managed to end up chest deep in the lake with their clothes on.

In other news, Seth has been on quite a tear. I suppose it's his way of stealing attention, but, boy this kid is making me crazy. He's turned to drawing on walls, his face, toys, etc with markers; dropping more things in the fish tank; tackling, hitting, throwing things, and generally harassing Matthew; and being generally disobedient and mischievous. Everything that I have to feed or put Elyse to sleep I fear what Seth will do while I'm occupied. I'm sure things will get better, but all his craziness has prompted me to seriously consider everyday preschool for him in the fall. Of course, I'm sure that won't happen, but it's very tempting on those days where I spend most of the day "cleaning up his messes."

That is too bad about seth. I'm also a little worried how Lilly will do. I hope it gets better soon for your sanity :) She is adorable.

I'm in the same boat with you and Seth. I feel for you! Yesterday I had to hurry and end a phone call or Tate was going to rip our poster on the wall--just to get my attention. Grrr...it's so frustrating! It's all we can do to show them love instead of anger sometimes, right? But I did laugh out loud when you mentioned your two boys getting all wet in the lake during your photo shoot. Crazy stuff! I hope they can stay safe while you enjoy your baby Elyse--she is definitely cute!
