Field Day

This week Matthew participated in his first ever field day. Field day has changed a lot since my elementary years, for the better. Most of the afternoon consisted of each class rotating through "stations" on the field, earning points for completing different tasks. I helped out at the egg and spoon relay, though we used ping pong balls instead of eggs. There was also a parachute station, a cup stacking station, something that included a giant ball, a water balloon something . . . . and some other things. Obviously I'm a little sketchy on the details. The PE teacher assigned each class a color, or colors. Matthew's class got blue and white. This is the outfit that he come up with:
Jon was pretty mortified that he would wear his tall blue soccer socks. I thought that he showed a lot of spunk.
Here's a few action shots of the afternoon, courtesy of Matthew's friend Yutaro's mom.
