Christmas 2010
This year we were looking forward to a low-key Christmas at home. But, as I discovered, doing a low key Christmas is really hard! I guess no matter how carefully you plan, there are always things that have to be done the night before. Here's a picture of the spread as we went to bed way too late on Christmas Eve.
The boys were pretty good about staying "asleep" until the unheard-of-ly late hour of 7am. Here are the boys sporting their "Christmas Eve" jammies and Santa hats before heading down to the presents.
So, Matthew's response to his big Santa gift wasn't exactly what we intended, but once he realized what it was he was happy to have his fish tank (with fish to be added after it had been up and running for 24 hours).
Seth's big presents were a Little People airport and a toy vacuum cleaner. I love that he's still at the phase where he wants to play with each present after he opens it. It makes present opening take a lot longer, but it's so much fun. I guess it's rewarding to feel like you actually choose something that they like and wanted.

The rest of the day was spent playing, napping, and eating at both home and grandma and grandpa's house. We didn't catch any pictures at grandma's, but the boys enjoyed opening more presents and playing with cousins, aunts, and uncles and of course, a yummy Christmas dinner.
