Matthew decided he wanted to give a family night lesson on baptism. He had heard baptism compared to the a caterpillar turning into a butterfly and he went with that theme for his lesson. Here's his scrip along with his visual aids.

Kids Marathon
Matthew's second year running! I had forgotten how nutsy the event is. It's such a fun event, but it's a little ridiculous that with all the build up it takes half a day to run the 1.2 miles!
Hoping to attract the attention of the other Scotties that were running in the event so I could give them their bibs.
Matthew getting ready to line up!
Seth, getting ready to cheer Matthew on.
We had hoped to get a picture of Jon and Matthew coming through the finish chute, but no such luck. I even scoured the official race photos (over 1000 images) for any sign of the two. I guess we have a few more years to perfect the finishing photo.

Thanksgiving "Break"
It's technically not a break, it's parent teacher conference week. A while back SPS decided to forgo the week of half days and instead just take three whole days right before Thanksgiving. So, I've been trying to keep my troops happy and busy. Here's a few of the things that we've been up to:
Turkeys! What's Thanksgiving without some sort of turkey craft?
Children's museum! It was a bit crazier than usual, but still lots of fun! Especially with Yutaro!
Baking! Sorry there's no pictures, but I'm sure that you can imagine.

Turkey Trot
The boys prepped for their Thanksgiving feast by running in a 5K turkey trot. The boys enjoyed all the runners dressed up as turkeys, pilgrims, and native Americans. We're already planning our costumes for next year!
Elyse and I tried to keep warm as the designated cheerleaders. Next hopefully we can run too!

Saturday Fun
Jon and the boys escaped the house (gave me a break) yesterday by going
to the inflatables at Arena Sports. I think the boys had a great time
and I really enjoyed the rest!

All Things Halloween
This October we were up to the usual Harvest/Halloween activities:
Pumpkin Farm with Seth's preschool:
This was my most miserable pumpkin farm experience - it poured rain the entire time and Elyse screamed in the car the entire way there and back. Luckily we got a speed and short winded tour guide (she's behind the squash bed in the red coat and braids)
and Elyse was happy to be wrapped under a raincoat.
Seth wasted no time in choosing a pumpkin.
and even wrote a story about his pumpkin, but that's another post.
Not wanting Matthew to be left out, Jon took both boys to another pumpkin farm:
We went to ward Halloween party and truck-or-treat:(The one token picture of the boys bobbing for balloons)
Needless to say, after this marathon of events, we (meaning me) were ready for Halloween to be over!
