Easter

This year we spread Easter over a couple of days.  It's always my intention to do all the bunny stuff on Saturday and in order to focus on the religious significance on Sunday, but that didn't happen this year.  I didn't even do the 12 Days of Easter (This is one of the my favorite versions!) like I usually do; I just didn't start on time and decided to forego it entirely.   Thankfully, the primary kids in our ward had been practicing this song to sing on Easter and our daily practice lent to several fruitful conversations about the Atonement and the real meaning of Easter, so hopefully the bunny didn't completely overshadow Jesus this year.

Saturday morning we went to playgroup egg hunt at a park.  Matthew and Seth were by far the oldest kids there and they made quick work of finding their allotted eggs.  But, it was a glorious day, so we took advantage of lots of fun playtime in the park.

Easter morning we did our family Easter baskets and egg hunt.  I usually am more creative about baskets and eggs, avoiding candy and filling eggs and baskets with stickers, games, books, etc.  But, again, I just didn't have the energy to plan ahead.
The boys did get a few small toys, a book, and ties, but the rest was candy.  Which meant, by Sunday afternoon, they were on candy overload.  Just in time for the final egg hunt at Grandmas!

We did manage to capture a few pictures in their new Easter ties and dress . . . but just barely!
Again, the boys were held to an allotted amount of eggs, and they found them fairly quickly.  Knowing that he was limited, Sethie was fairly discriminating about his eggs.  He happened to find a Princess egg which he promptly re-hid instead of adding it to his basket.

Love the recap!

I miss seeing you on a daily/regular basis. Even my little E mentioned today how Sethie is his friend :) !!

Well, despite things not going as you had hoped, it still sounded like a good Easter for the kiddos. Can't believe how big they're getting!
