Ice Skating

For our family fun this week, we all went ice skating! Matthew has been talking about trying for a few weeks now and we've had unending rain here in Seattle, so it was perfect for a fun indoor activity.

Both kids were really tentative at first. Matthew was uncomfortable letting go of the wall, and Seth wanted to be held.

Matthew eventually was able to venture away from the wall...so long as we were holding both of his hands.

Seth even got fairly comfortable being pushed around the ice.

At the end, I told Matthew he was skating like the Sharks skate. He replied that he couldn't skate nearly as well as the Sharks skate. I guess I'll grant him that. These are some videos of their final skate.

Sorry that the picture is a bit distorted...the cameraman (we won't mention any names) had the camera turned the long way and took the video sideways. Turns out it's not so easy to rotate a video.

Looks fun! I couldn't get the second video to play, but maybe it's our computer, who knows?

Looks like fun!! It's good that you are able to go do indoor activities! Nice to get out of the house!

We haven't braved ice skating yet. I'm impressed - even if he doesn't skate like the Sharks yet. ;)
