Water Table and Park Swings

We have been wanting to get Matthew a water table ever since it got warm. He loved playing at the water and sand parks in Eugene. Not wanting to get involved with the mess of sand, we decided that a water table would be okay.

We went to Toys R Us today and Matthew found the one he wanted...a table that is a sink. It actually has a little pump that has an intake at the bottom of the sink and a faucet that outputs the water at the top. It also happens to be the perfect height for Seth to stand up against.

Matthew also wanted to show off his sink and to give everyone a tour of our small backyard.

We also went to the park today and had to take a video of our boys swinging together. (Sorry the audio is so bad.)

Such fun! That water table looks great ... and I can't wait to start hitting the park more. K gets out of school in a week so I expect we will be going more often :) !!

Madeline is waiting for an invite to make sure the water table is as fun as Matthew thinks it is...

What a great table! I also like the idea of no sand. We'll have to see about getting one like that. Looks like a lot of fun! :)

LOVE the water table... what a great idea! jack's not a dirt fan, so maybe this is the answer for us. Isn't it fun when they get so excited about something like WATER?!

Just caught up on your blog—can't believe how big Seth is! He looks like such a cutie :) And I'm definitely liking the water table approach; Lucy had a sandbox (it mysteriously disappeared at our garage sale a few weeks ago) and the mess is crazy ...

Hey Julie! That is so great that you have been using gdiapers and are able to get more with the code. As far as making the switch to cloth, it's not as bad as I thought. In fact, it's totally not gross especially when you use flushable diaper liners on top of the cloth--basically they look like a dryer sheet that you put on top so it is right against their bum, then it catches the poop and you flush that whole thing away so you don't have to scrape poop off the cloth inserts. If you decide to take the plunge, email me and I'll forward you an email with how I wash them too and a link to those flushable liners.

I think the best thing to remember is that you don't have to use them all the time. I mostly use the cloth when I know we're going to be home and flushables and even disposables at night and when we leave the house. I just always think when I change a cloth diaper that it is one less diaper I have to buy. I am just so cheap.

Your boys are so cute and grown up. Hope Seattle is treating you well.
