Lately

Lately, I'm trying to take more pictures of the boys, especially in our more day-to-day activities. Here are some of our most recent adventures:
Building Play-Doh burgers

Playing in the park - Seth is getting quite good at handling a shovel!

Nursery for Seth

Seth is officially in nursery! Of course, he didn't stay on his own his first day; but we are optimistic. In typical Seth form, he managed to get a bloody nose falling off a chair. At least he looked good before church:
He also had his 18-month well check this week. Here are the stats:

Height: 33.75 inches (85%)
Weight: 23 lbs, 15 ounces (40%)

Seth has become quite the climber (and faller; our chairs spend most their time on our table or counters). He says some words, although they all seem to sound the same. Baa for ball and bird; gur for yogurt, ga for go, guum for vacuum, min for vitamin, ma for more and Matthew, ca for car and call (as in on the phone). "Hi," "bye," "mama," and "papa" are all fairly clear, at least to us. Seth adores Matthew, but also can be very assertive with him. He often gives kisses without prompting, but he also has a bit of a temper. He throws things down, rather forcefully, when he's frustrated or when you offer him something he doesn't want. He is also into EVERYTHING and constantly moving. He definitely keeps us all our toes!

Ice Skating

For our family fun this week, we all went ice skating! Matthew has been talking about trying for a few weeks now and we've had unending rain here in Seattle, so it was perfect for a fun indoor activity.

Both kids were really tentative at first. Matthew was uncomfortable letting go of the wall, and Seth wanted to be held.

Matthew eventually was able to venture away from the wall...so long as we were holding both of his hands.

Seth even got fairly comfortable being pushed around the ice.

At the end, I told Matthew he was skating like the Sharks skate. He replied that he couldn't skate nearly as well as the Sharks skate. I guess I'll grant him that. These are some videos of their final skate.

Sorry that the picture is a bit distorted...the cameraman (we won't mention any names) had the camera turned the long way and took the video sideways. Turns out it's not so easy to rotate a video.

Fun with Grammy, Grampy, and Heidi

While in California, the boys went on several fun outings. Jon generally stayed home to work and I opted for child-free time, usually to work out. Both the boys and I are always so spoiled when we are in San Jose!
